The GSA nominates and appoints graduate representatives to different university committees, boards, and advisory groups where graduate student representation is requested or required. GSA’s goal is to ensure that the selected graduate students are broadly representative of the graduate student body in terms of academic discipline and encourage all graduate students to apply. 

Presidential Committee (President and Vice-President)
For Presidential Committees, GSA will nominate at least two graduate students per vacancy for consideration by the President’s Office, which makes the final appointment for each committee. If interested, email GSA@austin.utexas.edu to apply. Open vacancies include:

  • Americans with Disabilities Accessibility (ADA) Committee
  • President's Student Advisory Committee 

University-Wide Committee Appointments 
For University-Wide Committees, GSA will directly appoint one graduate student for each vacancy. If interested, email GSA@austin.utexas.edu to apply. Open vacancies include:
